Holiday periods, although great for reconnecting with friends and loved ones, can also be hectic and expensive due to gatherings, food preparation, and travel; it’s common to feel both physically and emotionally depleted after everyone leaves. Reiki or Meditation, gentle energy healing techniques, offer a restorative path back to balance, helping beat the holiday blues.
Below is a guide for those who haven’t yet done a Reiki Level One course but like to meditate.
Begin by finding a quiet space where you can sit or lie comfortably, free from distractions. Close your eyes, slow your breath, and set an intention - perhaps to release stress, invite calm, or reconnect with yourself. You can play some calming music to help you relax.
Begin by gently placing your hands on your body, moving from the top of your head down to your forehead, throat, heart, and solar plexus.
As you rest your hands on each area, imagine warm, healing energy flowing from your palms, dissolving tension and replenishing your vitality.
Stay with each position for several minutes, allowing yourself to sink deeply into relaxation.
You can incorporate mindful affirmations, such as “I welcome peace” or “I am renewed.” The gentle act of mediation or self-Reiki encourages the release of lingering emotional residue from the holidays and helps you ground yourself in the present.
If you’re trained in Reiki symbols, visualise or draw them over your body for added clarity and healing. Even ten to fifteen minutes can make a difference, helping you reset your energy and return to daily life refreshed and centred.
If you need a full Reiki Session, you can book with Amanda at Replenish Healing for a 30-minute or 60-minute session, in person or via distance healing.
